Run, ride, ramble… or ski, scoot or swim your way to resilience with the Youth Adventure Trust.
Join the Resilience Challenge
What are you doing to get outside an active this February half term?
Join the virtual Resilience Challenge from 19-27 February for a week of outdoor fun and adventure. It’s your challenge, done your way – run, ride, ramble, ski, scoot, swim or even do a mix! Choose your distance – 25, 65, 100 or push yourself to cover 200 kilometers over the week. Take part on your own, with a team of friends or with your family.
Outside & Active have teamed up with our charity partner, the Youth Adventure Trust, to bring you this awesome challenge. Participants are asked to raise as many £s as the number of kilometres they cover to help vulnerable children get outside during the school holidays to build resilience, develop confidence and learn skills that will last a lifetime. Once you’ve completed the challenge and raised £25 for the Youth Adventure Trust, you’ll receive a medal. There are also some great prizes up for grabs! Find out more and register to take part at www.youthadventuretrust.org.uk/resilience-challenge
“The resilience challenge has given us a focus for our walks and a target to aim for. It has pushed us to walk further, to go outside despite the wind and the rain. Our hallway is covered in muddy footprints, the washing machine has been on the go all week but our cheeks are rosy and the children are happy”

Travelling, trails and tales: Reflections of a running nomad
In January 2024 I left my home in
Manchester to travel around South East Asia. Running has played a huge part in
my experience of each and almost every place I’ve passed through. But this type
of behaviour hasn’t always been typical of me. No, in fact a couple of years
ago, I’d have thought it bizarre to even think of running whilst on the trip of
a lifetime, let alone actually follow through with it and worse still, enjoy
it!
