I am an outdoor enthusiast, survivalist, adventurer, campaigner for getting children and adults of all abilities outdoors, wild cooking vlogger, Epilepsy Research Uk supporter, writer for Bushcraft and Survival and a serving Fire Fighter.
I have used the outdoors to fight my diagnoses of Epilepsy when i was 17 and the stereotyping that comes along with the condition. From being told I would never be able to lead a normal life and face many restrictions i’ve used the outdoors and what it has to offer to break those barriers and take on many adventures all over the uk including sleeping on the summit of mount Snowdon, summitting our highest peak Ben Nevis at night, 80k mountain bike ride across the peak district national park.
I teach Scouts outdoor survival & bushcraft activities and am now a serving firefighter for Derbyshire fire and rescue currently being the only serving uk firefighter with epilepsy. I recently got asked how Epilepsy has effected my love for the the outdoors and my answer was “my love for the outdoors is better than any medication in helping me cope with my condition”. Id like to help with research into the effects of altitude on people with epilepsy. I live my life by “Explore, Dream, Discover”.
I am part of a team of 2 firefighters that are attempting the national 3 peak challenge in 24 hrs which is probably one of the hardest challenges in the UK however we are also attempting to achieve it in our Full fire kit including Breathing Apparatus which as far as were aware has never even been attempted before, probably for a good reason hahaha. All of the information is on our social media pages @2firefighters3mountains.
