Dan Keeley – Adventure-Runner, Speaker, Mental Health Activist
Dan Keeley is one of the UK’s leading mental-health activists, professional speakers and adventure-runners on a mission to create a world where every single one of us has the courage, support and safe-space to speak up when we’re struggling.
In 2017, after a full-scale manic episode in Italy, time in psychiatric wards and a 5-year battle with bipolar disorder, Dan ran 1250-miles in 65-days (solo & self-supported) from The Colosseum in Rome back to The London Eye to share his journey of recovery on a national scale and play his part to inspire thousands of others to speak openly about their own personal battles.
Now Dan is one of the most sought-after professional speakers who continues to channel his lived-experiences to inspire others by delivering powerful and immersive keynote talks & panel-discussions with hundreds of forward-thinking organisations, conferences, festivals, schools and social enterprises dedicated to improving the mental-wellbeing of their teams, their audiences and their communities.
With signature topics including the power of vulnerability, the power of putting yourself first, the mental adventure (why we’re all on the journey together), obsessive simplicity, men’s mental health, bipolar disorder and more, Dan goes above & beyond to ensure that every audience member leaves feeling uplifted, inspired and empowered to take action about the things which matter most to them, particularly when it comes to our collective mental-wellbeing.
Dan is regularly interviewed and featured on national media platforms which span the mental-health & wellbeing industries as well as the outdoor, endurance, ultra & trail-running worlds.
Dan is also a proud father, family Man, podcast host, qualified alpine ski instructor, a Salomon, SunGod & National Running Show Ambassador and an all-round mission-driven optimist who collaborates and supports passionate causes & projects close to his heart whilst taking on new and exciting running-adventure-challenges. Make sure to come and say Hi to Dan at the show!
