Podcast with Sophie Power
Our last guest for season three of the Outside & Active rose to public fame when a picture circulated of her having a break during the UTMB mountain race. Nothing unusual about that you may think, but the picture of Sophie Power was taken whilst she was breastfeeding her three month old baby during the 106 mile race, after being denied a deferral.
After the race, Sophie started sharing her story on social media (@ultra_sophie) and campaigning for women in sport.
She recently launched SheRaces.com, which is a set of guidelines for race event directors to help make races more equitable for women.
We talk to Sophie about running, family, adventure and the importance of making events open and accessible for all.

About She Races
“This campaign isn’t just about pregnancy deferrals. It’s about creating a better and more inclusive race experience overall – and that’s something that will ultimately benefit both men and women.”
