We’re Matt and Reece and we are ‘The Sidecar Guys’. We’re known as The Sidecar Guys because we are the Guinness World Record holders for the longest journey by scooter and sidecar and the first people to ever circumnavigate the planet on a scooter with a sidecar. We are attending the National Outdoor Expo as Splash Maps ambassadors.
Our journey took us 34,000 miles through 35 countries on the most inappropriate mode of transport imaginable. From the snows of Siberia to the sands of the Sahara, we faced a temperature range of +50°C to -40°C. At times, it was a ridiculous amount of fun and at other times it was a completely horrific thing to do. We returned from the trip just over a year ago and now live in the UK.
We love anything to do with adventure. When we’re not on an adventure we spend all of our time either writing, talking or making films about our adventures. We will be releasing a four part series about the trip and have just released a book about the journey called – Our Ridiculous World (Trip).
We are also the creators of The Armchair Adventure Festival which connected outdoor adventurers during the lockdown of 2020 while raising more than £10,000 for charity. We now run an in person version of the event at Mount Edgcumbe, Cornwall.
