I have been involved in the outdoors since being a Cub Scout at eight. I am still involved in the Scouts and as a volunteer manage an outdoor centre near Corwen in North wales I also manage the adventurous activity permit scheme for Northamptonshire Scouts as well as being an adult trainer and a mountain advisor and assessor for them. I am a Gold assessor for the DofE and also manage expeditions for the DofE and Queens Scout Awards for Northamptonshire Scouts. I am also an adult trainer for the DofE in the Central Region. I am a qualified mountain leader and mentor for Mountain Training. I am also an Accredited Practitioner for the Institute for Outdoor Learning. I manage Corwen Walking Festival and this is now in its eleventh year. As well as an avid walker I am a runner and have completed the Summer Spine Sprint Race in 2021. I ran my 1000 miles for the year by mid July in 2021. Most of my spare time you will find me outdoors.
